Kenneth high speed mixers, usually as a must pre-processing equipment in PVC processing factories, are used for the preliminary compounding of PVC resin and respective additives required by particular formulation. The main applications are listed as follows:
Rigid and soft PVC dry blends
WPC(wood plastic composites, PVC/PE/PP+wood flours)
SPC(stone plastic composites, PVC+CaCO3+additives)
Thermoplastic polymers(PVH, PVA, PC, POM etc)
Hot or cold dispersion of color masterbatches, additives, powders
Power coating
Powder coating bonding with metallic pigments or micas
Features
Modular Designed, Maximum Flexibility&Mobility
Kenneth heating mixers are modular designed with maximum flexibility for various applications. Each mixer is tailored by different PVC recipe, processing and throughput requirements based on Kenneth’s expertise in the area of PVC compounding and mixing.
Whole Series, Full Range
Kenneth has a full range series of heating mixers, capacity from lab scale 10 liter to industrial production scale 1,500 liter. Full range series of cooling miers, capacity from 200 liter to 6000 liters. Throughput of PVC compounds can be 30kg/hr(SHR-10) to 4,000kg/hr(SHR-1500).
Solid Materials, Precise Assembled, Quality Crafted
The machine structures of Kenneth heating mixer are made of carbon steel been welded together by experienced welder. Inner surface of mixer tank, mixing tools, discharger inner surface wherever contacted with resin are made of stainless steel 304. The solid machine structures minimize vibration meanwhile the precise assemble of all mechanical parts ensures a comfortable noise level even at intensive mixing operation.
Reliable Components
Kenneth heating mixer adopts industrial standard electrical components from world renowned brands i.e Siemens, Schneider, OMRON, ABB etc. It is a consideration of quality assurance and easy sourcing for replacement of broken parts wherever the customer is all over the world.
Electrical Safety&Certificate
Safety of equipment and protection of operators are the top guideline throughout the designŋineering of both mechanical and electrical aspects. Strict process control during fabrication and assembly of single machinery or whole line. Kenneth mixers and mixing lines offer multiple certificates as requested e.g. CE, UL, CSA etc.
Intuitive Operation&Diverse Control Modes
Depends on the automation level and related accessories, the control of mixing process can be manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic. The first 2 control modes are usually achieved via button operation on the electrical cabinet. While the fully automatic mode requires an additional touch screen(Siemens S7 PLC) which visualizes all processes vividly, integrates all control operations and real time monitoring of all components etc. Remote maintenance module is optional for remote diagnosis of malfunctions or update of control system.
Optional Accessories
Kenneth offers multiple formula and processing tailored options besides common heating mixer configuration:
Dosing System
Since one batch size of PVC formula is usually composed of several raw materials with different weights, the weighting&metering of each item by hand always takes time and sometimes may not be accurate. Kenneth offers both semi-auto dosing system and fully automatic dosing system which work with the heating mixer for a quick and precise preparation of one batch of raw materials.
Loader
To feed the raw materials to mixer can be manual dumping or via auto-loader either screw loader or pneumatic vacuum loader. It is also a trade-off between labor cost and automation.
Versatile Mixing Tools
The mixing tool of heating mixer is usually a group of 3-4pcs of mixing blades with different shapes set vertically on the main shaft. There is no one fixed mixing tool combination for all applications. Kenneth engineers offer every single mixing tool combination based on their years of expertise on PVC compounding and mixing technology tailored to each PVC formula and related processing requirements. Wear resistance layer is optional.
Choppers
Choppers are a group of small propellers mounted at low position of mixer tank. Those choppers are also rotating at high speed to break or crush possible agglomerates or cakes during mixing process in some applications with high liquid proportion.
Liquid Injection/Spray
The liquid additive used in a PVC formula is usually DOP oil which has a fairly high viscosity and poor fluidity. Inject the oil with pressure is an ideal solution for a fast and complete feeding of oil. Besides, mist nozzle and spray nozzle are optional for a homogenized dispersion of oil with other powder solids.
Pulse Jet Filter/Area Central Filter
The heating mixing process ends when temperature reaches above 120 degree C. Although moisture starts to evaporate at 100 degree C, the temperature raise period from 100~120 degree C may only takes 1~2mins. Thus, the short evaporating time is not sufficient for the escape of moisture out of heating mixer. With the help of Kenneth Pulse Jet Filter which has a centrifugal fan to empty the evaporated moisture quickly and completely. The constant dry chamber prevents caking of mixtures. And the dry blends after hot mixing process would certainly have an extremely low moisture percentage and a better free flowing property.
Container Heating/External Heating
External hot oil circulation, as an additional heating source, is also available for certain circumstances as per PVC formulations. The double layer jacket vertical mixing tank of heating mixer was designed for the heat transfer oil circulation driven by a HTM(heat transfer media) temperature controller or named as heat exchanger. While in most general applications, the jacket is filled with heat insulation cotton only.
